The 75th Anniversary of the Douglas DC-3

December 17. 2010 marks the 75th anniversary of the Douglas DC-3 which first flew in 1935! Total production of the DC-3 was 16'079 of which 10'655 were DC-3's and C-47's. Licensed copies of the DC-3 were built in Japan as Showa L2D (487 aircraft) and in the USSR as Lisunov Li-2 (4937 aircraft)
